All University of California Campuses Make the Top 75 of Best Colleges Ranking
UC campuses sweep up in the 2019 U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges ranking.
In the 2019 U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges ranking, five UC campuses made the top ten public universities for undergraduate education, with all nine campuses within the top 75.
UCLA was named the top public university in the country, with UC Berkley coming in at number two. UC Santa Barbara was ranked fifth, UC Irvine was named number seven, UC Davis came in at number ten, and UC San Diego took the twelfth spot. Rounding out the list, UC Santa Cruz was ranked number 26, UC Riverside was 35, and UC Merced finished at 67.
The UC campuses also did well in the overall national rankings which included both private and public institutions. According to this ranking, six campuses ranked among the top 50:
- UCLA (No. 19)
- UC Berkley (No. 22)
- UC Santa Barbara (No. 30)
- UC Irvine (No. 33)
- UC Davis (No. 38)
- UC San Diego (No. 41)
The U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges ranking is based on academic reputation, financial resources, admission selectivity, and graduation rates among Pell Grant recipients.
